Day 25err 26: Dates!

Mess me up when I’m trying to keep an accurate record! The last post was posted on the tenth here in Japan not the ninth. O, but then this entry would still need to be…Once second. That could’ve been embarrassing.

Speaking of which here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9_8ZjiC4n4&feature=youtu.be

Woo, doesn’t sound too bad ne?

Well today there was really only one thing on my mind and it wasn’t the four day weekend ahead. WOO!

Instead it was God’s provision. Now if you were around me at all for the last three months before I left Colorado, you probably heard me boasting about how God had laid this path before me. I’m still so breathless from I tell people here about it!
And today he laid down another stone before me.

I was going to the international office to hand in my registration form; Btw I’m taking 20 hours of class a week, and getting 13 credits for it if I’m lucky. WOO! While I was there, one of the office workers asked me to sign something. Normally I do this without question as understanding paperwork is a little above my level just yet; but this paper had a number on it. 80000 yen. This threw up a red flag in my head immediately as I thought all my tuition bills were taken care of already; I mean CSU took five grand for that purpose! So I’m now listening more attentively while my mind is running around thinking when I realize: That’s 800 dollars…

And so I stop the conversation to say that I don’t have that much money on me; in my head I’m trying to think if I can bike down to the atm and back up in time, but it turns out I didn’t need to.See the number wasn’t a bill. It was a scholarship. And all they ask that I do in return, is write up a report on my experience while living in Japan, and how it affected my study.

By the way, it turns out the 800 was a monthly number.

I stood there for a minute asking questions confirming it with the office again and again, just too shocked to believe it could be true. For reference, the university advises students to plan a budget of 700 a month to live in Yamagata. And this scholarship is for the whole time I’m studying at Yamagata.

Surprised isn’t what i would say to describe myself. When I was a yild I remember hearing that God wants to bless you beyond what you can imagine; I’ve seen this every now and again like with the first friend I made in Longmont, the two best friends I made in high school, but it isn’t very often that’s God’s blessing is palatable. No tangible is a better word.

I want to rave about how awesome this is, but I simply don’t have the words. I mean, would you? If your landlord told you that you don’t need to pay your bills for a year, what would you say?

BTW – I can’t get this song out of my head now and you did a GREAT job singing it (and I’m not saying this just because I love you either!)!
